Greenbrier on Tuesday said it has sold its Gunderson Marine vessel-fabrication business in Portland, Ore., to privately held Oregon Green Manufacturing for an undisclosed amount.
Greenbrier, based in Lake Oswego, said the deal preserves 300 jobs at Gunderson and includes a non-competition agreement related to its core business of freight railcar-related products and services.
Greenbrier last year said it would end rail production at Gunderson and explore alternatives to exit marine barge production at the site. The company posted a $24.2 million impairment charge in the first quarter related to Gunderson.
