Opinion: Elon Musk has it all wrong – here’s why the bank sector won’t blow up

Elon Musk should stick to electric cars.  Instead, Musk is on the interview circuit and Twitter predicting the demise of the banking sector.

The problem here is that when the Cassandras damage bank stocks with their commentary, their warnings can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Depositors who otherwise might not be concerned see the shares of their banks tank, and pull funds for fear that their bank is going out of business.
