Shares of Proteome Sciences fell 23.5% after the company reported a swing to a first-half pretax loss on flat revenue and higher expenses and finance costs.
Shares at 1156 GMT were down 2.0 pence at 6.50 pence.
The protein-biomarker research company said Friday that pretax loss for the half year ended June 30 was 547,000 pounds ($689,275) compared with a profit of GBP75,000 for the comparable period a year earlier.
Revenue for the period was GBP3.21 million compared with GBP3.24 million.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization–one of the company’s preferred metrics which strips out exceptional and other one-off items–was GBP269,000 compared with GBP644,000.
