By Denny Jacob

International stocks trading in New York closed higher Wednesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts climbed 2% to 156.16. The European index advanced 1.9% to 150.29. The Asian index gained 2.2% to 181.67. The Latin American index edged up 0.6% to 205.65, while the emerging-markets index rose 2% to 303.41.

RedHill Biopharma was among those whose ADRs traded actively. The specialty biopharmaceutical company soared 27% after its latest earnings report noted a nearly 10% increase in new prescriptions of Talicia compared to a year earlier. Chief Executive Dror Ben-Asher said the company’s commercial focus, once its Movantik transition period is complete, will see efforts aligning to maximize Talicia, among others.

EHang Holdings climbed 20% following Tuesday’s news that the autonomous aerial vehicle technology platform company entered into share subscription agreements for a $23 million private placement with several strategic investors.
