Rivian Automotive said Monday that its vehicle deliveries topped expectations in the recently-completed quarter.
The Irvine, Calif.-based electric vehicle maker said it delivered 12,640 vehicles in the quarter ended June 30. Analysts polled by FactSet expected 11,000 deliveries.
Rivian also said it produced 13,992 vehicles at its factory in Normal, Ill.
The company reaffirmed its guidance to deliver 50,000 vehicles in the fiscal year. Analysts expect annual deliveries of 47,000, according to FactSet.
The company said it will report its second-quarter financial results Aug. 8 after markets close.
Shares rose 3.2% to $17.19 pre-market. The stock is down 4% year to date.
