American Airlines pilots vote ‘overwhelmingly’ to strike as contract talks continue

American Airlines Group Inc.’s stock rose 1% Monday, reversing course from premarket as the airline’s pilots voted “overwhelmingly” in favor of authorizing a strike if necessary.

The Allied Pilots Association, a union that represents 15,000 American Airlines pilots, said that with more than 96% of its members participating, more than 99% had voted in favor of authorizing a strike. Talks with American Airlines AAL continue.
