Metro said Monday that it has extended Steffen Greubel’s contract as the company’s chief executive for five years until April 2029.
The German food wholesaler said the decision confirms its long-term strategic orientation and ensures continuity at the top of the management board in the company’s transformation toward a pure food wholesaler. Greubel was appointed as Metro’s CEO in May 2021.
Greubel said the company reaffirms its targets to achieve sales of more than 40 billion euros ($43.78 billion) and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of more than EUR2 billion by 2030.
