Goldman: &#8216;The worst phase of negative earnings revisions is now behind us&#8217;<\/span><br \/>\n<i class=\"imgGrad\"><\/i>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Q1 earnings season has proven to be more resilient than what some analysts were expecting. So far, the  EPS is down 3% year-over-year, better than the 7% decline that the Street was looking for.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Goldman Sachs equity analysts are increasingly more confident in their above-consensus EPS estimate of $224 in 2023, representing +1% growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe the worst phase of negative earnings revisions is now behind us,\u201d they said in a client note.<\/p>\n<p>The analysts also note that risks to the profit outlook are \u201ctilted to the downside given uncertainty around banking stress.\u201d They also expect real yields are expected to climb and P\/E to fall from 18x to 17x.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the P\/E remains stable, it would represent 5% upside to our year-end target of 4000,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>On a more negative note, Goldman\u2019s 2024 EPS estimates are currently under consensus as the analysts argue that Street is \u201ctoo optimistic\u201d on margins for the next year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Read the full article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investing.com\/news\/stock-market-news\/goldman-the-worst-phase-of-negative-earnings-revisions-is-now-behind-us-432SI-3082312\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a9 Reuters.
