{"id":85474,"date":"2023-11-16T20:49:19","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T01:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/markets\/crypto\/binance-japan-adds-13-new-crypto-pairs\/"},"modified":"2023-11-16T20:49:21","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T01:49:21","slug":"binance-japan-adds-13-new-crypto-pairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=85474","title":{"rendered":"Binance Japan Adds 13 New Crypto Pairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_132350\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-132350\" style=\"width: 1500px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><noscript><\/noscript><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-132350\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Iryna Budanova\/Adobe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The crypto exchange giant Binance is hoping to corner the Japanese market by expanding its crypto pairing offerings by 13.<\/p>\n<p>The firm launched in Japan in August this year, following its acquisition of the Sakura Exchange BitCoin trading platform in November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Binance Japan has since begun migrating Sakura users to its platform.<\/p>\n<p>Binance recently announced that it will no longer accept Japanese residents on its global site from December.<\/p>\n<p>In a Binance Japan press release, the firm said that its goal was to list \u201c100 tokens\u201d on its platform.<\/p>\n<p>This goal is not unambitious considering Japan\u2019s notoriously strict token listings policy.<\/p>\n<p>Coins must be approved by a self-regulating listings panel, with the regulatory Financial Services Agency having the final say on listing applications.<\/p>\n<p>But in recent months, this process \u2013 which once took between six months and a year per coin \u2013 has been relaxed.<\/p>\n<p>Tokyo has softened its stance on regulation as the government looks to foster its crypto sector and Web3 sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Binance Japan CEO Chino Takeshi said that the platform now handles 47 coins.<\/p>\n<p>The list of newly added coins includes the Near Protocol (NEAR) token, EOS, Kakao\u2019s KLAY coin, and Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_132351\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-132351\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><noscript><\/noscript><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-132351\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The full list of Binance Japan\u2019s newly listed coins. (Source: Binance Japan)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>All coins have previously gained approval from the self-regulating Japan Virtual and Cryptoassets Exchange Association (JVCEA).<\/p>\n<h2>Japan: Can Binance Succeed Where Other Crypto Exchanges Have Failed?<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"replacer\"><\/span><br \/>Binance was forced to exit Japan in 2018 after Tokyo imposed some of the most restrictive crypto regulations in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The regulations forced all but a small handful of domestic startups out of the market.<\/p>\n<p>Previous attempts from the likes of FTX and Coinbase to break into the Japanese market have ended in failure.<\/p>\n<p>But Chino struck an optimistic note, explaining:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe will further expand our services in Japan and play a leading role in the spread of cryptoassets in Japan.
