Investing.com \u2013 Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.<\/p>\n

At the close in Tokyo, the lost 0.01%.<\/p>\n

The best performers of the session on the were Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co. <\/span><\/span> (TYO:), which rose 10.42% or 397.00 points to trade at 4,208.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Saison Co., Ltd. <\/span><\/span> (TYO:) added 7.96% or 182.50 points to end at 2,475.00 and Isuzu Motors, Ltd. <\/span><\/span> (TYO:) was up 7.68% or 133.00 points to 1,865.00 in late trade.<\/p>\n

The worst performers of the session were Toho Zinc Co., Ltd. <\/span><\/span> (TYO:), which fell 25.48% or 400.00 points to trade at 1,170.00 at the close. Shiseido Co., Ltd. <\/span><\/span> (TYO:) declined 14.33% or 700.00 points to end at 4,185.00 and Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd. <\/span><\/span> (TYO:) was down 10.41% or 669.00 points to 5,760.00.<\/p>\n

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2179 to 1456 and 227 ended unchanged.<\/p>\n

Shares in Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co. (TYO:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 10.42% or 397.00 to 4,208.00. Shares in Toho Zinc Co., Ltd. (TYO:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 25.48% or 400.00 to 1,170.00. Shares in Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 14.33% or 700.00 to 4,185.00. <\/p>\n

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 2.72% to 20.00.<\/p>\n

Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.80% or 0.62 to $76.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.77% or 0.63 to hit $80.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 5.75 to trade at $1,943.45 a troy ounce.<\/p>\n

USD\/JPY was up 0.17% to 151.75, while EUR\/JPY rose 0.18% to 162.21.<\/p>\n

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.67.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
