{"id":78398,"date":"2023-10-30T07:08:05","date_gmt":"2023-10-30T11:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/investing\/iff-to-sell-cosmetics-ingredients-unit-to-clariant-for-810m\/"},"modified":"2023-10-30T07:08:11","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T11:08:11","slug":"iff-to-sell-cosmetics-ingredients-unit-to-clariant-for-810m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=78398","title":{"rendered":"IFF to Sell Cosmetics Ingredients Unit to Clariant for $810M"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"js-article__body\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-sbid=\"MW-BT-CO-20231030-700229\" role=\"document\">\n<p>By Ben Otto<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>Swiss chemicals company Clariant AG will buy a cosmetic ingredients unit of International Flavors &amp; Fragrances Inc. for $810 million.<\/p>\n<p>New York-based IFF said Monday that it would use proceeds from the deal to reduce debt, consistent with previously announced plans to strengthen its capital structure.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>The deal &#8220;will allow us to focus on our core businesses, maximizing growth and returns,&#8221; said IFF Chief Executive Frank Clyburn. &#8220;We are convinced that Clariant is the best owner for the Cosmetic Ingredients business and with an ability to invest, will offer the business and our colleagues a bright future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The IFF business unit develops ingredients for the cosmetic and personal care industry, and includes brands Lucas Meyers Cosmetics and IBR.
