Stewart<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>Silvercorp Metals production of gold more than doubled in the latest quarter but output of silver, lead and zinc were lower than a year earlier.<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>On 2Q production:<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>The Canadian mining company produced 1.8 million silver equivalent ounces in the three months through Sept. 30, down from 1.9 million a year earlier. That included 2,458 ounces of gold, up from 1,200 last year, and 1.6 million ounces of silver, down from 1.8 million.<\/p>\n<p>Lead and zinc output for the fiscal second quarter were 16.1 million pounds and 4.6 million pounds, respectively, compared with almost 18 million pounds of lead and 6 million pounds of zinc in the year-earlier period.<\/p>\n<p>Silvercorp said the decrease in silver and lead production at its Ying mining district operation was mainly due to lower head grades, while at its GC mine silver, lead and zinc production was lower mainly due to a production disruption of five weeks with a series of improvement measures and a district-wide halt in industrial activity associated with improvements made to the provincial power grid.<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p>Write to Robb M.
