Daimler Truck Holding set up a joint venture with German energy company EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg and the city of Worth am Rhein to explore the potential use of geothermal energy at Mercedes-Benz Group’s plant in Worth.<\/p>\n
\n
The German truck maker said Friday that the WarmeWerk Worth joint venture, established after a decision by the town council in July, would build and operate a geothermal plant to generate heat at the Worth site if it determines that geothermal energy can be used.<\/p>\n
Excess geothermal heat will be used to supply existing municipal heating networks in the city, Daimler Truck said.<\/p>\n
The joint venture also aims to explore the region for the development of geothermal energy, establishing the most suitable location for a geothermal well.<\/p>\n
