The recent stock decline can partly be attributed to weak packaging demand and the company\u2019s lowering of its full-year 2023 guidance.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, SEE stock has had a Sharpe Ratio of <strong>0.0<\/strong> since early 2017, lower than <strong>0.5<\/strong> for the S&amp;P 500 Index over the same period. It then rallied 48% between March 2009 and January 2010 to reach levels of 1,124.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sealed Air\u2019s Fundamentals Over Recent Years<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.trefis.com\/data\/companies\/SEE\/no-login-required\/cSTmAEh6\/Sealed-Air-Revenue?fromforbesandarticle=trefis231005\">Sealed Air\u2019s revenue<\/strong> increased from $4.8 billion in 2019 to $5.6 billion in 2022, led by an increase in food packaging demand and better price realization. The company acquired Liquibox in Feb 2023, which has bolstered its sales growth in the last couple of quarters. Sealed Air\u2019s operating margin expanded from 8.2% in 2019 to 14.6<strong>%<\/strong> now, primarily due to pricing actions and the company\u2019s cost-cutting initiatives. The company\u2019s earnings stood at $3.37 on a per-share and reported basis in 2022, compared to the $1.70 figure in 2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does Sealed Air Have A Sufficient Cash Cushion To Meet Its Obligations Through The Ongoing Inflation Shock?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sealed Air\u2019s debt decreased marginally from $3.8 billion in 2019 to $3.7 billion now, while its cash increased from $262 million to $285 million over the same period.
