CHRW stock was trading at around $101 in early June 2022, just before the Fed started increasing rates, and is now 15% below that level, compared to 13% gains for the S&amp;P 500 during this period. The recent stock decline is partly attributed to price erosion and the soft freight market.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, CHRW stock has had a Sharpe Ratio of <strong>0.1<\/strong> since early 2017, lower than <strong>0.5<\/strong> for the S&amp;P 500 Index over the same period. This compares with the <strong>Sharpe of 1.2<\/strong> for the Trefis Reinforced Value portfolio. The company\u2019s revenue growth has been bolstered by Space Cargo and Dema Service acquisitions in 2019 and Prime Distribution Services in 2020, and Combinex in 2021. The company saw a surge in demand post-pandemic, and price increases also aided its top-line growth. However, this trend has now cooled off. Lower ocean and truckload pricing has weighed on its top line in the first half of 2023. CH Robinson\u2019s operating margin decreased from 4.8% in 2019 to 3.2<strong>%<\/strong> now, partly due to higher SG&amp;A expenses.
