TRX Gold is expected to produce more gold thanks to a new ball mill that will nearly double processing capacity at its operation in Tanzania.<\/p>\n
On the new mill:<\/p>\n

The mill expansion at the Buckreef Gold Project is expected to increase processing capacity from 1,000 metric tons per day to 2,000 tons per day on an average annual basis. It also expects to increase ore throughput from 75% to 100%. TRX Gold said it expects significant increase in gold production as a result.<\/p>\n
The near doubling of milling capacity is expected to enable Buckreef Gold to increase gold production beyond fiscal 2023 annual guidance of 20,000-25,000 ounces of gold.<\/p>\n
TRX Gold didn’t release any new guidance figures, but Chief Executive Stephen Mullowney said that market can expect updated production guidance as this expansion approaches commercial operation.<\/p>\n
Other long-lead items have also been ordered, it said, and the company will focus on getting the 2,000 tons-per-day operation online as soon as possible to take advantage of increased gold production.<\/p>\n
Production in the third quarter:<\/p>\n
In mid-July, TRX Gold said that Buckreef Gold poured 4,764 ounces of gold and sold 4,810 ounces in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
For the year to date, Buckreef Gold achieved record production with 15,794 ounces poured and 16,068 ounces sold.<\/p>\n
