Mixin Network, the Beleaguered cross-chain transactional network for digital assets, which suffered an attack on Sept. 23 wiping $200 million, has offered a bug bounty to the exploiter on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of our platform assets were users\u2019, and we hope you can refund them. You can keep $20M of the assets as a BUG Bunty Reward for the BUG,\u201d the company said in a note to the exploiter on Etherscan.<\/p>\n

The Hong Kong-based crypto firm urges the hackers to contact them via [email\u00a0protected] for further information on the bounty reward.<\/p>\n

Following the hack, Mixin temporarily halted deposit and withdrawal services to its customers, until the vulnerabilities were fixed after \u201cdiscussion and consensus among all nodes.\u201d It also wrote on X (Twitter) that the blockchain security company SlowMist has stepped in to assist with an investigation.<\/p>\n

The Mixin team said on Sept. 25 that it would announce the solution for how to deal with the lost assets in a later date. Mixin founder Feng Xiaodong will discuss the exploit at a live stream in Mandarin on Monday, it added.<\/p>\n

During the live stream, Xiaodong said that the Mixin team can \u201conly ensure at least half of the assets are secure,\u201d as of now.<\/p>\n

Mixin: Situation is \u201cMore Optimistic\u201d<\/h2>\n

Aside from announcing a bug bounty to the exploiters, Mixin said in a separate post that \u201cthe situation is much more optimistic than expected,\u201d after the completion of asset tally work.<\/p>\n

The platform reassured that the assets lost \u201care not as significant as estimated\u201d and reminded users that the asset transactions and market making services still remained suspended \u201cto prevent unnecessary losses.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRegarding the asset losses, we can only take responsibility through action besides apologizing. At the same time, being responsible has always been Mixin’s attitude. Specific reimbursement rules still need some time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, according to a local report, Xiaodong said that the platform would refund users up to 50% of the losses incurred and the remaining funds will be paid in the form of bond tokens.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
