{"id":65181,"date":"2023-09-25T10:45:39","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T14:45:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/markets\/crypto\/microstrategy-acquires-additional-5445-btc-adding-to-a-total-of-158245-bitcoins\/"},"modified":"2023-09-25T10:45:41","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T14:45:41","slug":"microstrategy-acquires-additional-5445-btc-adding-to-a-total-of-158245-bitcoins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=65181","title":{"rendered":"MicroStrategy Acquires Additional 5,445 BTC, Adding to a Total of 158,245 Bitcoins"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Nasdaq-listed MicroStrategy (MSTR), the world\u2019s leading corporate Bitcoin holder, has purchased an additional 5,445 BTC through August and September.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The company announced Monday that it has acquired $147.3 million worth of the world\u2019s largest cryptocurrency at an average price of $27,053 per Bitcoin \u201cinclusive of fees and expenses,\u201d per its latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media\"><oembed data-embedo-height=\"400\" data-embedo-url=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/saylor\/status\/1706278284651077714\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/oembed><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">\u201cAs of September 24, 2023, MicroStrategy, together with its subsidiaries, held an aggregate of approximately 158,245 bitcoins, which were acquired at an aggregate purchase price of approximately $4.68 billion and an average purchase price of approximately $29,582 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The filing further noted that MicroStrategy entered into a sales agreement last month with Cowen and Company, Canaccord Genuity and Berenberg Capital Markets as sales agents, to sell shares worth up to $750 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">As of Sunday, the agents issued and sold an aggregate of 403,362 shares for net proceeds to MicroStrategy of approximately $147.3 million.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:justify;\">MSTR Bitcoin Investments Suffered<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">MicroStrategy\u2019s Bitcoin investments suffered an unrealized loss of more than $600 million in August, following BTC\u2019s price crash to around $25,000.
