Investing.com \u2013 U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.<\/p>\n

At the close in NYSE, the fell 0.31%, while the index declined 0.22%, and the index fell 0.23%.<\/p>\n

The best performers of the session on the were International Business Machines (NYSE:), which rose 1.01% or 1.46 points to trade at 146.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) added 0.62% or 1.10 points to end at 179.07 and Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:) was up 0.46% or 0.89 points to 195.35 in late trade.<\/p>\n

The worst performers of the session were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:), which fell 4.34% or 1.65 points to trade at 36.34 at the close. Walt Disney <\/span><\/span> Company (NYSE:) declined 3.60% or 3.06 points to end at 81.96 and UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (NYSE:) was down 1.12% or 5.42 points to 480.64.<\/p>\n

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Enphase Energy Inc <\/span><\/span> (NASDAQ:) which rose 4.21% to 122.09, The Mosaic Company <\/span><\/span> (NYSE:) which was up 3.39% to settle at 39.37 and Etsy Inc <\/span><\/span> (NASDAQ:) which gained 2.96% to close at 65.74.<\/p>\n

The worst performers were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 4.34% to 36.34 in late trade, Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) which lost 3.60% to settle at 81.96 and Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc (NYSE:) which was down 3.41% to 38.82 at the close.<\/p>\n

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Connexa Sports Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 160.11% to 0.20, Avinger Inc <\/span><\/span> (NASDAQ:) which was up 72.16% to settle at 10.45 and Rackspace Technology\u00a0Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 35.81% to close at 2.01.<\/p>\n

The worst performers were Digital Transformation Opportunities Corp (NASDAQ:) which was down 52.76% to 13.70 in late trade, Histogen Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 40.04% to settle at 0.40 and Heart Test Laboratories Inc Unit (NASDAQ:) which was down 38.99% to 0.42 at the close.<\/p>\n

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1686 to 1192 and 111 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1959 fell and 1486 advanced, while 162 ended unchanged.<\/p>\n

Shares in Histogen Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 40.04% or 0.26 to 0.40. Shares in Heart Test Laboratories Inc Unit (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 38.99% or 0.27 to 0.42. <\/p>\n

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 0.79% to 14.11.<\/p>\n

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 1.05 to $1,952.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.30% or 0.27 to hit $90.85 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.22 to trade at $94.65 a barrel.<\/p>\n

EUR\/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while USD\/JPY rose 0.18% to 147.87.<\/p>\n

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.82.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
