Salesforce Inc. is hiring again, after laying off about 10% of its staff earlier this year, according to a new report.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg News reported late Thursday that Salesforce
\n CRM,
\n -0.01%<\/bg-quote>
\n is hiring 3,300 people across its sales, engineering and cloud departments.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Bloomberg at Salesforce\u2019s annual Dreamforce conference, Chief Executive Marc Benioff said the company needs to hire \u201cthousands\u201d of people in order to grow the company and \u201ccontinue to achieve great margins.\u201d<\/p>\n

Benioff told Bloomberg that many of the new hires would be \u201cboomerangs,\u201d or former Salesforce employees who had left for other companies.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, San Francisco-based Salesforce laid off about 10% of its workforce, or roughly 8,000 jobs, after Benioff said the company \u201chired too many people\u201d during the pandemic years.<\/p>\n

Salesforce shares are up 65% year to date, compared to the S&P 500\u2019s
\n SPX
\n 17% gain.<\/p>\n
