Although ISRG stock trades at a higher valuation of <strong>16x<\/strong> revenues, compared to <strong>13x<\/strong> for DexCom<fbs-ticker data-name=\"DXCM\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/companies\/dexcom\" data-type=\"stock\"><br \/>\n  DXCM<br \/>\n <\/fbs-ticker>, this gap in valuation makes sense, in our view, given Intuitive Surgical\u2019s<fbs-ticker data-name=\"ISRG\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/companies\/intuitive-surgical\" data-type=\"stock\"><br \/>\n  ISRG<br \/>\n <\/fbs-ticker> superior profitability and financial position, as discussed below.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, ISRG and DXCM have had a Sharpe Ratio of <strong>0.7<\/strong> since early 2017, higher than <strong>0.6<\/strong> for the S&amp;P 500 Index over the same period. Still, they fall short of the <strong>Sharpe of 1.3<\/strong> for the Trefis Reinforced Value portfolio. The company continues to expand its installed base, which results in the growth of recurring revenues, such as consumables.<\/li>\n<li>Intuitive Surgical\u2019s installed base has increased 35% to over 7,500 in 2022, compared to less than 5,600 in 2019.<\/li>\n<li>New customer additions are leading the revenue growth for DexCom amid rising awareness of CGM devices.
