Investing.com \u2013 U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.<\/p>\n

At the close in NYSE, the lost 0.48%, while the index fell 0.16%, and the index climbed 0.11%.<\/p>\n

The best performers of the session on the were Salesforce Inc (NYSE:), which rose 2.99% or 6.42 points to trade at 221.46 at the close. Meanwhile, 3M Company (NYSE:) added 2.14% or 2.24 points to end at 106.69 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) was up 1.77% or 0.61 points to 35.14 in late trade.<\/p>\n

The worst performers of the session were UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (NYSE:), which fell 3.03% or 14.90 points to trade at 476.63 at the close. Boeing Co <\/span><\/span> (NYSE:) declined 2.11% or 4.82 points to end at 224.03 and American Express <\/span><\/span> Company (NYSE:) was down 1.45% or 2.32 points to 157.85.<\/p>\n

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Western Digital <\/span><\/span> Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 5.83% to 45.00, Arista Networks <\/span><\/span> (NYSE:) which was up 4.33% to settle at 195.20 and Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:) which gained 3.84% to close at 70.79.<\/p>\n

The worst performers were Dollar General Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 12.15% to 138.50 in late trade, Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ:) which lost 4.92% to settle at 191.71 and Elevance Health Inc (NYSE:) which was down 3.84% to 441.94 at the close.<\/p>\n

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Aditx Therapeutics\u00a0Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 461.22% to 55.00, Acer Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 109.84% to settle at 1.28 and Flora Growth <\/span><\/span> Corp (NASDAQ:) which gained 77.31% to close at 3.83.<\/p>\n

The worst performers were Axcella Health Inc <\/span><\/span> (NASDAQ:) which was down 39.43% to 0.23 in late trade, Sonnet Biotherapeutics Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 28.34% to settle at 0.20 and VCI Global <\/span><\/span> Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 26.15% to 4.18 at the close.<\/p>\n

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1549 to 1363 and 89 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1984 fell and 1491 advanced, while 127 ended unchanged.<\/p>\n

Shares in Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.83% or 2.48 to 45.00. Shares in Dollar General Corporation (NYSE:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 12.15% or 19.16 to 138.50. Shares in Arista Networks (NYSE:) rose to all time highs; rising 4.33% or 8.10 to 195.20. Shares in Sonnet Biotherapeutics Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 28.34% or 0.08 to 0.20. <\/p>\n

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 2.23% to 13.57 a new 1-month low.<\/p>\n

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.33% or 6.45 to $1,966.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.38% or 1.94 to hit $83.57 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 1.54 to trade at $86.78 a barrel.<\/p>\n

EUR\/USD was down 0.75% to 1.08, while USD\/JPY fell 0.52% to 145.49.<\/p>\n

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 103.60.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
