Crypto exchange giant Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has flagged a warning regarding AI-enabled deepfake videos that pose significant risks to cryptos.<\/p>\n

Referring to an AI-powered video post featuring Joshua Xu, CEO of HeyGen, CZ said that such videos are \u201cpretty scary from a video verification perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon’t send people coins even if they send you a video,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

The Tweet by Xu included 100% AI-generated videos of his own avatar and voice clone. \u201cWe’ve made massive enhancements to our life-style avatar’s video quality and fine-tuned our voice technology to mimic my unique accent and speech patterns perfectly,\u201d the post added.<\/p>\n

The HeyGen CEO noted that this feature will soon be deployed to production for everyone to try and that the AI video generator would take only \u201ctwo minutes<\/a>\u201d to create a real-looking digital avatar.<\/p>\n

According to the Binance website, users must submit video evidence to verify the identity of the customer to withdraw funds from the exchange. The know-your-customer (KYC) process mandates a video verification along with a picture of the user\u2019s ID card or passport.<\/p>\n

The rule said, \u201cplease do not put watermarks on your videos and do not edit your videos,\u201d the policy reads.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May, Jimmy Su, Binance\u2019s chief security officer said that AI tech is very \u201cadvanced\u201d and soon deepfakes might become undetectable by a human verifier.<\/p>\n

Syncing Cryptos and Deepfakes<\/h2>\n

DeepFakeAI, the AI project in the crypto industry gained more traction among the community for its superimposed videos of Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk, SEC Chair Gary Gensler and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.<\/p>\n

The platform allows users to customize and create AI-powered videos through deepfake technology and can access the platform\u2019s services through a native bot.<\/p>\n

DeepFakeAI platform has a native cryptocurrency dubbed FAKEAI, which provides specific benefits like free access to certain packages on the platform. According to CoinGecko data, FAKEAI was trading at $0.00028227 during press time.<\/p>\n

Though the technology looks more promising and lucrative, many crypto influencers, users and investors fear the challenges it poses.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
