{"id":40908,"date":"2023-07-26T20:36:49","date_gmt":"2023-07-27T00:36:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/uncategorized\/midday-movers-ups-general-motors-general-electric-logitech-and-more\/"},"modified":"2023-07-26T20:36:51","modified_gmt":"2023-07-27T00:36:51","slug":"midday-movers-ups-general-motors-general-electric-logitech-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=40908","title":{"rendered":"Midday movers: UPS, General Motors, General Electric, Logitech, and more"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div id=\"imgCarousel\" class=\"imgCarousel\">\n<p><span class=\"text\">\u00a9 Reuters. <\/span><br \/>\n<i class=\"imgGrad\"><\/i>\n<\/div>\n<p>Investing.com &#8212; U.S. stocks were trading higher Tuesday, as investors digest a deluge of corporate earnings ahead of a key Federal Reserve meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the biggest U.S. stock movers today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> <span itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/Corporation\"><span itemprop=\"name\"> United Parcel <\/span><\/span> Service Inc <\/strong>(NYSE:) shares rose 1.7% after news that the logistics and package delivery giant had reached a tentative agreement with its union, averting a strike with just days to go until the deadline.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>General Motors<\/strong> (NYSE:) stock fell 4% after the  lifted its full-year profit guidance, in large part because it plans to invest less in new products and cut operating costs by an additional $1 billion through the end of next year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong> <span itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/Corporation\"><span itemprop=\"name\"> General Electric <\/span><\/span> <\/strong> (NYSE:) stock rose 5.8% after the industrial conglomerate raised its full-year adjusted profit forecast, betting on steady demand for aircraft engine spare parts and services from airlines looking to cash in on surging air travel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Verizon<\/strong> (NYSE:) stock rose 1% after the telecoms giant  a surprise rise in wireless subscriber additions as more users upgraded their mobile phones to access its 5G network.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Goldman Sachs<\/strong> (NYSE:) stock was flat after Citigroup downgraded the investment bank to \u2018Neutral\u2019 from \u2018Buy,\u2019 saying its targets will take time to be achieved.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>3M<\/strong> (NYSE:) stock rose 4.8% after the industrial conglomerate lifted its full-year EPS guidance even after  a quarterly loss as it took a hit from a $10.3B settlement related to water pollution claims.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Logitech<\/strong> (NASDAQ:) stock rose 13% after the maker of computer mice and keyboards raised its sales and profit outlook for the first half of the financial year 2024.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Biogen<\/strong> (NASDAQ:) stock fell 3.7% after the biotech said it expects to cut about 1,000 jobs, or about 11% of its workforce, to save costs as the company ramps up the launch of a new Alzheimer&#8217;s disease drug.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8212;<em>Peter Nurse contributed to this report<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Read the full article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investing.com\/news\/stock-market-news\/ge-general-motors-verizon-rise-premarket-goldman-sachs-dow-fall-3133229\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a9 Reuters.
