In April it announced plans to expand its overseas summer schedule by 25% after strong booking data the previous month.<\/p>\n<p>That expansion included some Asian routes but United (ticker: UAL) has now announced a second ramp-up in the region, with new flights to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Manila this fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInternational [travel] continues to drive higher results, especially in Europe and Asia. We expect Asia strength to accelerate into 2024 as people continue to \u2018catch up\u2019 on trips missed earlier in the decade.\u201d TD Cowen analyst Helane Becker said in a note after United\u2019s earnings.<\/p>\n<p>United\u2019s summer expansion has been a resounding success, helping the carrier to record earnings of $5.03 per share, beating expectations by an entire $1. It also hiked full-year earnings guidance to a range of $11 to $12, from a previous $10-$12 range.<\/p>\n<p>The stock has climbed 45% so far in 2023, as of Wednesday\u2019s close, in line with the gains made by<br \/>\n        Delta Air Lines<br \/>\n       (DAL) and<br \/>\n        American Airlines<br \/>\n       (AAL).
