{"id":37670,"date":"2023-07-19T09:13:49","date_gmt":"2023-07-19T13:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/markets\/crypto\/venture-capital-firm-coinfund-raises-158-million-to-drive-innovation-in-early-stage-crypto-and-ai-companies\/"},"modified":"2023-07-19T09:13:50","modified_gmt":"2023-07-19T13:13:50","slug":"venture-capital-firm-coinfund-raises-158-million-to-drive-innovation-in-early-stage-crypto-and-ai-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=37670","title":{"rendered":"Venture Capital Firm CoinFund Raises $158 Million to Drive Innovation in Early-Stage Crypto and AI Companies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The crypto-focused venture capital firm CoinFund has closed a fundraising round for its latest VC fund, the CoinFund Seed IV Fund, after raising $158 million from investors.<\/p>\n<p>The investors in the new fund are a combination of family offices, institutional investors and high-net worth individuals, an announcement from CoinFund said.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement added that the amount raised far exceeded its initial fundraising goal of $125 million, despite a general slump in the market for VC investing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Fund will support pre-seed and seed stage investments in new and ambitious founding teams across the web3 ecosystem,\u201d the announcement said.<\/p>\n<p>Investments made by the new fund will focus on \u201cthoughtful, long-term\u201d projects that have a \u201cclear, yet non-consensus view of how next generation applications will be built on web3 rails.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a Twitter thread, the New York-based VC firm admitted that current environment for crypto projects is \u201ctough,\u201d with both foundational technical challenges to solve and an \u201cevolving regulatory\u201d landscape to operate in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a time for grit and building for the long-term,\u201d CoinFund said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media\"><oembed data-embedo-height=\"400\" data-embedo-url=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/coinfund_io\/status\/1681319702092562432\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/oembed><\/figure>\n<p>In the last month, CoinFund has made multi-million dollar investments in projects related to artificial intelligence (AI), layer 1 blockchains, and blockchain-based financial services.<\/p>\n<p>Among these was an investment into Giza, an AI platform for smart contracts and web3 protocols, and the Cosmos-based smart contract platform Neutron.<\/p>\n<h2>More bullish than ever<\/h2>\n<p>Commenting on the milestone, CoinFund\u2019s CEO and Co-Founder, Jake Brukhman, thanked his investors for the \u201cdeep confidence\u201d they have expressed in his firm, despite the crypto bear market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the portfolio side, we are more bullish on the industry than ever and continue to invest in platform resources and personnel to help navigate a nascent and sometimes opaque category and support the growth of each portfolio company,\u201d Brukhman said, while adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cCoinFund is proud to identify and back emergent teams and technologies before they trend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/>Read the full article <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptonews.com\/news\/venture-capital-firm-coinfund-raises-158-million-to-drive-innovation-in-early-stage-crypto-and-ai-companies.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The crypto-focused venture capital firm CoinFund has closed a fundraising round for its latest VC fund, the CoinFund Seed IV Fund, after raising $158 million from investors.
