{"id":32586,"date":"2023-07-07T08:00:13","date_gmt":"2023-07-07T12:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/markets\/u-s-bond-yields-steady-near-three-month-highs-as-june-jobs-report-awaited\/"},"modified":"2023-07-07T08:00:14","modified_gmt":"2023-07-07T12:00:14","slug":"u-s-bond-yields-steady-near-three-month-highs-as-june-jobs-report-awaited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=32586","title":{"rendered":"U.S. bond yields steady near three month highs as June jobs report awaited"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"js-article__body\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-sbid=\"WP-MKTW-0002253705\" role=\"document\">\n<p>U.S. bond yields were steady Friday as investors awaited the June jobs report from the Labor Department for signs on whether the economy is still strong or on the cusp of faltering. <\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s happening<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"articleList\">\n<li>\n      The yield on the 2-year Treasury<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD02Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">5.002%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was 4.99%, down 1.6 basis points.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      The yield on the 10-year Treasury<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">4.061%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was 4.05%, up 1.1 basis points.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      The yield on the 30-year Treasury<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD30Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">4.006%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      was 4.01%, up 0.1 basis points.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What\u2019s driving markets<\/h2>\n<p>On Thursday, the yield on the 2-year Treasury surpassed 5% to reach to the third-highest level of the year, and the yield on the 10-year Treasury topped 4% to its highest level since March.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>Markets were reacting to signs of labor-market strength registered in ADP\u2019s June report on private-sector payrolls, as well as to a strong services sector activity survey and the prospect of more interest rate rises revealed on Wednesday  in the minutes of the Federal Reserve\u2019s June meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the job market resilient and inflation elevated, the bond market continued to push further out in the future expectations of a rate cut.
