Moderna declined to comment on the size of the investment to <em>Barron\u2019s<\/em>, but the company confirmed it had reached a memorandum of understanding to research, develop, and manufacture mRNA medicines in China.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>\u201cAny medicines produced under this agreement will be exclusively for the Chinese people\u2014who face many of the same health challenges that affect other communities around the world\u2014and will not be exported,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Moderna also announced on Wednesday that it has submitted marketing authorization applications for mRNA-1345 with the European Medicines Agency, Swissmedic, and the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia.
