{"id":29687,"date":"2023-06-30T12:32:41","date_gmt":"2023-06-30T16:32:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/investing\/dylan-mulvaney-speaks-out-on-bud-light-uproar\/"},"modified":"2023-06-30T12:32:43","modified_gmt":"2023-06-30T16:32:43","slug":"dylan-mulvaney-speaks-out-on-bud-light-uproar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=29687","title":{"rendered":"Dylan Mulvaney Speaks Out on Bud Light Uproar"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"js-article__body\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-sbid=\"WP-BAR-0000682577\">\n<div data-layout=\"wrap\n              \" data-layout-mobile=\"\" class=\"\n        media-object\n        type-InsetMediaIllustration\n          wrap\n  article__inset\n        article__inset--type-InsetMediaIllustration\n          article__inset--wrap\n    article__inset--lead\n  \"><\/p>\n<figure class=\"\n        media-object-image\n        enlarge-image\n        img-wrap\n        article__inset__image\n      \" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-bottom:66.66666666666666%;\" data-subtype=\"photo\" class=\"image-container  responsive-media article__inset__image__image\"><\/div>\n<\/figure><\/div>\n<p>Social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney posted a TikTok video on Thursday addressing the Bud Light controversy for the first time since it erupted in April.<\/p>\n<p>Mulvaney\u2019s TikTok video showed her drinking beer from a glass as she told viewers about her experiences since her Instagram post in early April promoting Bud Light.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>\u201cWhat transpired from that video was more bullying and transphobia than I could have ever imagined,\u201d Mulvaney said in the TikTok video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor months now, I\u2019ve been scared to leave my house, I have been ridiculed in public, I\u2019ve been followed, and I have felt a loneliness that I wouldn\u2019t wish on anyone,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Mulvaney added that in the months following the Bud Light advertisement, she waited for the brand to reach out to her, but \u201cthey never did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n        Anheuser-Busch InBev<span><\/span><br \/>\n       (ticker: BUD), the maker of Bud Light, has been dealing with the reaction, too, in lost sales and anger directed at employees and the brand. The company had sent Mulvaney a personalized can of Bud Light to commemorate the one-year anniversary of her \u201cDays of Girlhood\u201d online series documenting her transition. Mulvaney showed the can during the Instagram video in April.<\/p>\n<p>An Anheuser-Busch spokesperson told <em>Barron\u2019s <\/em>on Thursday that \u201cAs we\u2019ve said, we remain committed to the programs and partnerships we have forged over decades with organizations across a number of communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. The privacy and safety of our employees and our partners is always our top priority.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we move forward, we will focus on what we do best\u2014brewing great beer for everyone and earning our place in moments that matter to our consumers,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview on CBS Mornings on Wednesday, Anheuser-Busch\u2019s U.S. CEO Brendan Whitworth said: \u201cIt\u2019s been a challenging few weeks, and I think the conversation surrounding Bud Light has moved away from beer and the conversation has become divisive. Bud Light really doesn\u2019t belong there.
