Geraldo Rivera\u2019s time at Fox News is up.<\/p>\n

Rivera, who has been at Fox News since 2001, tweeted<\/a> Thursday that \u201cI quit Fox\u201d after he was fired from the talk show \u201cThe Five.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 23 years tomorrow Fox and Friends could be my last appearance on the network. Thanks for the memories,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Fox News confirmed Friday will be Rivera\u2019s last day at the network: \u201cWe reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks and\u00a0look forward to celebrating him on\u00a0\u2018Fox & Friends\u2019 Friday morning, which will be his last appearance on the network.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rivera, who turns 80 on July 4, had said last week that he was no longer a part of \u201cThe Five,\u201d adding that \u201cBeing odd man out isn\u2019t always easy.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

The veteran correspondent was part of a rotating lineup of left-leaning panelists on \u201cThe Five,\u201d but his appearances in recent months have been more contentious with the show\u2019s right-leaning panelists, and in April he was rebuked by network star Greg Gutfeld for criticizing Tucker Carlson\u2019s \u201cbulls\u2014\u201d Jan. 6 conspiracy theories<\/a> after Fox fired Carlson.<\/p>\n
