As some U.S. hotels hung onto practices they adopted during the coronavirus pandemic \u2014 such as eliminating daily cleanings of hotel rooms \u2014 the number of hotel housekeepers fell by more than 102,000 last year from pre-pandemic levels, new data shows.<\/p>\n

The total number of hotel-housekeeping jobs as of May 2022 was 364,990, a 22% decline from the total of 467,270 such positions during the same period in 2019, according to numbers released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.<\/p>\n
