{"id":24982,"date":"2023-06-20T10:34:10","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T14:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/markets\/u-s-bond-yields-hold-steady-with-fed-officials-set-to-speak-this-week\/"},"modified":"2023-06-20T10:34:11","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T14:34:11","slug":"u-s-bond-yields-hold-steady-with-fed-officials-set-to-speak-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifintechworld.com\/?p=24982","title":{"rendered":"U.S. bond yields hold steady with Fed officials set to speak this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"js-article__body\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-sbid=\"WP-MKTW-0002190274\" role=\"document\">\n<p>Treasury yields were little changed Tuesday morning, as traders returned from the  three-day Juneteenth holiday weekend and geared up for a big week of commentary by Federal Reserve policy makers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<h2>What\u2019s happening<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"articleList\">\n<li>\n      The yield on the 2-year Treasury<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD02Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">4.687%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was 4.726%, marginally higher from 4.720% on Friday. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      The yield on the 10-year Treasury<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">3.728%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      was 3.754%, down slightly from 3.768% Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      The yield on the 30-year Treasury<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD30Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">3.814%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was 3.843%, down slightly from 3.855% on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What\u2019s driving markets<\/h2>\n<p>Data released on Tuesday showed that construction on new American homes jumped 21.7% in May, as builders ramped up activity to meet strong demand. <\/p>\n<p>Later in the day, New York Fed President John Williams and Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr are set to appear on a panel at a conference in New York.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Fed Chair Jerome Powell  is scheduled to begin the first of two days worth of semi-annual congressional testimony.<\/p>\n<p>The inversion of the 2- and 10-year Treasurys yield is close to its deepest levels of the year.
