ExxonMobil Corp.’s 584,000 b\/d Baytown, Texas, refinery experienced an operational issue on Thursday, a company official told OPIS.<\/p>\n

“We had an operational issue with one of our units at the Baytown complex and are working to resolve it,” a spokesman said. “There is minimal impact to production, and we expect to meet our contractual commitments.”<\/p>\n

Multiple sources told OPIS the facility’s 90,000 b\/d fluid catalytic cracker was experiencing problems.<\/p>\n

Reports of the issue strengthened U.S. Gulf Coast CBOB differentials Thursday afternoon. After Cycle 36 supplies reportedly traded at a 33.5ct discount to the NYMEX July RBOB contract in the morning session, a later deal was reported at 31cts below the screen. Implied prices were up about 10cts to $2.3408\/gal at about 1:55 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
