Some climate-related exchange-traded funds rose Wednesday while\u00a0the broader U.S. stock market mostly fell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Touchstone Climate Transition ETF
\n HEAT,
\n +0.15%<\/bg-quote>,<\/span>
\n an actively managed fund that began trading in early May, closed 0.2% higher, according to FactSet data. The fund\u2019s factsheet says that it invests in companies that are \u201cleading the transition to a climate-resilient economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the BlackRock Future Climate and Sustainable Economy ETF
\n BECO,
\n +0.01%<\/bg-quote>,<\/span>
\n an active fund that invests in companies believed to be furthering the transition to lower greenhouse gas emissions, ended up less than 0.1% Wednesday, while the Engine No. 1 Transform Climate ETF
\n NETZ,
\n +0.99%<\/bg-quote>
\n gained 1%, according to FactSet data.<\/p>\n

MarketWatch\u2019s Rachel Koning Beals has reported that Canada\u2019s record-breaking start to the fire season has prompted warnings that wildfires, which are made worse by the increased drought and extreme heat tied to climate change, aren\u2019t limited to the west. Smoke from Canada\u2019s wildfires has cast a haze in parts of the U.S., including New York City this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for all five boroughs,\u201d New York City Mayor Eric Adams tweeted Wednesday.<\/p>\n
