The size of TCS\u2019s stake hadn\u2019t been revealed before.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>The fund\u2019s president, Eric Semler, sent a letter to Yelp\u2019s management with his recommendations to boost returns and said that TCS may make its own bid to acquire Yelp, the Journal reported, <\/p>\n<p>Yelp didn\u2019t immediately respond to a request for comment from <em>Barron\u2019s<\/em> early Tuesday. Shares climbed 14% to $37.18 in premarket trading.<\/p>\n<p>TCS and Semler won a board seat at the online company<br \/>\n        Angi<br \/>\n       in 2016. The company was eventually sold to<br \/>\n        IAC<span>\u2019s<\/span><br \/>\n       consumer review site HomeAdvisor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the letter to Yelp, Semler said that combining Yelp with Angi would help double the value of Yelp\u2019s shares. He also said that Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman had been overcompensated by the business he co-founded in 2004.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Analysts at KeyBanc said that Yelp seems to get calls to sell itself every four years.
